LONG ISLAND CITY — A 20-year-old Long Island City woman has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of a 29-year-old man outside the 21st Street-Queensbridge subway station on Christmas Eve in 2009, the Queens district attorney said.

According to DA Richard Brown, Cyan Brown of Long Island City was 16 when she stabbed Thomas Winston, also of Long Island City, once in the upper torso, piercing his heart. The incident occurred outside a fast food restaurant above the 21st Street-Queensbridge subway station.

She pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter before Queens Supreme Court Justice Gregory Lasak, who indicated he would sentence the defendant to a determinate term of 13 years when she returns to court April 10.
