To mark the final day of the papacy of Pope Benedict XVI, the students at St. Margaret School held a prayer service on Feb. 28 at St. Margaret Church in Middle Village. Celebrated by Msgr. Steven Aguggia, the church’s pastor, the students offered prayers in English and German for the health and well-being of the pope emeritus. They also said prayers for the College of Cardinals as it convened in Rome to choose Benedict’s successor. As noted on the front page, Pope Francis I was elected by the College of Cardinals Wednesday, Mar. 13.
