Sixteen students St. John’s Preparatory School Astoria recently participated atin the annual American Mathematics Competition (in AMC). As noted, the contest- which involves problem solving question in a timed format-aims to spur interest in mathematics and develop talent through friendly competition among participating schools. Ashlene Bisram won the AMC 12 test, and Joerenz Bolina finished first in the AMC 10 exam. The other participating St. John’s students, as shown, were Joenrhuz Bolina, Deanna Danke, Christina DeSimone, Roger Delgado, Randy Edwards, Catherina Gioino, Omar Ibrahim, Sumreen Khan, Zara Khan, Cara Lambrento, Sarah Ramnarine, Antonino Sacchetti, Zakaria Serhouane and Veronica Sirica.
