A New York auctioneer said a 1,000-year-old bowl auctioned for $2.2 million had been purchased at a yard sale for about $3. otheby’s said the bowl, which measures about 5 inches in diameter, had been purchased by the seller, whose name was not released, at a yard sale in 2007 and displayed in their living room for several years before the owner decided to have it appraised.

An 87-year-old Philadelphia woman gets back class of ’42 ring. She said she never expected to ever see her high school class ring, which turned up in the estate of an old boyfriend.
