Police Nab Howard Bch. Man For Rape Attempt
Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a sexual assault in Forest Park last Friday, Mar. 29.
Richard Kassebaum, 42, of 155th Avenue Howard Beach was arrested on Tuesday, Apr. 2 on charges of attempted predatory assault and attempted rape and sex abuse, officials said.
It is alleged he approached a woman from behind while she was jogging in the park, struck her with a stun gun and sexually assaulted her, according to police reports. The incident happened at approximately 7:25 p.m. Friday evening.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for injuries sustained to her neck. The case was later reported to the 102nd Precinct.
Kassebaum was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years in prison for the slaying of his aunt in 1990, it has been reported.
