Michael Ludeman was recognized as the Cop of the Month at the 106th Precinct Community Council meeting in Ozone Park last Wednesday, Apr. 10, for his efforts to track down suspects involved in rim thefts from vehicles parked in the Howard Beach area. Police said the officer and his partner were on patrol at 4:30 a.m. on Mar. 30 in Howard Beach when they spotted three males-ages 17, 20 and 46- removing the rims from a parked Infiniti vehicle. Following a brief foot pursuit through local streets and backyards, the suspects were apprehended by the two officers and booked on robbery charges. For his efforts, Ludeman (center) was presented by Deputy Inspector Thomas Pascale (at right), 106th Precinct commanding officer, and Precinct Council President Frank Dardani with a plaque donated by the Times Newsweekly.
