REGO PARK — A 62-year-old dentist with an office in Rego Park has been charged with sexually abusing a female patient between September 2012 and April of this year, according to the Queens district attorney.
DA Richard Brown said Bedros Yavru-Sakuk, of Edgewater, N.J., was arraigned on charges he inappropriately touched a female patient without consent.
“The charges in this case are disturbing,” said Brown. “The defendant is accused of taking advantage of his position of power and abusing his patient while he was supposed to be treating her. This is a serious breach of trust and cannot go unpunished.”
If convicted, Yavru-Sakuk faces up to three months in jail.
