The Queens Tourism Council recently received a $70,000 state grant to help promote the borough as a destination during the upcoming year. Procured by Assemblywoman Margaret Markey, the grant is part of the state Department of Economic Development’s “I Love NY” program. Reportedly, the council aims to use the grant for a multi-media marketing campaign to promote businesses and cultural agencies to residents around the tri-state area. The council will also use part of the funds to establish a presence at various international travel and hospitality conferences.
