In addition to officially reopening the Flushing Meadows Park Carousel last Wednesday, May 29, local elected officials and students also celebrated the opening of the new Fantasy Forest Amusement Area located next to the merry-go-round. Operated by NY Carousel Entertainment-which runs the Flushing Meadows Carousel-the new amusement park features four rides, including the only roller coaster in Queens. Participating in the opening of the rides were Flushing Meadows Corona Park Administrator Janice Melnick, City Council Member Julissa Ferreras, Deputy Borough President Barry Grodenchik, students from P.S. 16 and representatives of NY Carousel Entertainment and Community Boards 4, 6 and 8.
