Police have found the getaway vehicle of the man wanted in a Long Island office shooting as the manhunt for the suspect continues.
The alleged gunman, identified as Sang Ho Kim, a reported Queens resident, walked into Savenergy, an energy efficiency company in East Garden City, Wednesday morning and shot two employees, killing one. He then fled in a white Honda.
That SUV was discovered abandoned in Cold Springs, Putnam County late last night, said officials. Nearby schools have been shutdown as authorities search the surrounding area.
At a press briefing this afternoon, officials cautioned the public to lock their doors and cars, and to be generally cautious.
The surviving victim has been identified in media reports as Savenergy CEO John Choi, who is listed in critical condition at Nassau University Medical Center.
Kim, a vendor working with the business, is believed to have shot Choi and another employee over a disgruntlement he had with the company, according to officials.
The gunman is described as Asian, in his 60s, 6’2” and was last seen wearing a gray or brown suit jacket and red shirt, according to reports.
Anyone with information about the suspect should call 9-1-1 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reported $5,000 reward for any information in the case.
