Astoria residents said police swarmed 29th Street Friday afternoon to respond to a report of a stabbing at a multi-family detached home between 34th and 35th avenues.

“There were like six helicopters and three-fourths of the local precinct here,” said resident Roman Turkovsky.

Neighbors said cops arrived at about 4:30 p.m. with several vehicles positioned along the street, as at least one helicopter circled above.

Christina Vasconez and her 12-year-old son Allen said they saw a female neighbor come out of her home with wounds on her back and arm followed by her two children.

“Her shirt was bloody,” Allen said. “We saw the police were out. The lady left in the ambulance with her two kids.”

A spokesman for the FDNY said fire officials received a call about a stabbing at about 4:25 p.m., and after an ambulance arrived at the scene, emergency responders transported one person to Mount Sinai Hospital Queens.

Authorities continued to comb the area for a short time after they arrived and then ended the search, residents said. It was unclear who or what they were looking for.
