A Queens biker connected to a violent altercation between a driver and a group of motorcyclists in Manhattan won’t be prosecuted as the investigation continues.
Allen Edwards, 42, of Jamaica, was initially charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and menacing, according to police.
But the Manhattan District Attorney’s office said it “declined to prosecute [Edwards] at this time, pending further investigation of the entire incident.”
“We are taking Sunday’s crimes extremely seriously, and will proceed with charges in a manner that enables us to build the strongest cases possible. Prematurely charging individuals with low-level crimes does not further the goals of the investigation, and could weaken the cases we expect to bring against the perpetrators of serious crimes,” said Karen Friedman-Agnifilo, chief of the office’s trial division, who is overseeing the case, in a statement.
Another biker, 28-year-old Christopher Cruz, has been charged with reckless driving and unlawful imprisonment, according to prosecutors.
Edwards was riding with a group of motorcyclists in Manhattan when one of the bikers was involved in an accident with the victim’s Range Rover around 2 p.m. Sunday, said cops.
Two suspects then followed the car, slashed its tires and did other damage to the vehicle. When the 33-year-old driver stopped, the suspects pulled the man from his Range Rover and assaulted him near West 178 Street and St. Nicholas Avenue.
The victim was treated and released at a local hospital for his injuries, said police.
On Wednesday night, police released two additional photos of a person wanted for questioning in regards to the assault on the driver.

A video posted to YouTube captured the incident between the group of motorcyclists and SUV driver.
According to NBC New York, bikers were planning a rally Wednesday near the hospital where the motorcyclist who was seriously hurt in the initial incident with the SUV is recovering.
