Police are trying to find a man who allegedly helped burglarize 18 properties in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and the Bronx by posing as a phony utility worker.

According to police,  during the crimes, the suspect, claiming to be the worker, approached individuals at their homes and started speaking with them, said police. While the homeowners were distracted, two or three other men removed property from the homes.

Three of the incidents took place in Queens in January within the 111th and 104th Precincts. A fourth burglary took place on April 3 in the borough’s 112th Precinct and a fifth on April 29 in the 108th Precinct.
