Suspect sought in string of LIC burglaries

Police are looking for a man wanted in connection to five Long Island City burglaries.

During the incidents, the suspect throws a rock through the windows from an adjoining roof to gain entry to the locations and removes property, including jewelry and eyeglass frames, said cops.

The burglaries took place at the following times and locations:

  • October 14, 7:35-8:00 p.m., 30-30 47th Avenue (8th floor) 11101
  • October 23, 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m., 47-00 33rd Street (2nd floor) 11101
  • October 26, 1:30-2:00 p.m., 29-10 Thomson Avenue (6th floor)
  • November 5, 7:20 p.m.-5:00 a.m., 47-00 33rd Street (2nd floor)
  • November 16, 3:37 p.m.-9:00 a.m., at 30-30 47th Avenue (8th floor)

Police describe the suspect as a black male in his late 40s to early 50s and bald with a medium build.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or can text their tips to CRIMES (274637), then enter TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.
