CATHERINE E. MONACO died on Saturday, January 11, at the age of 76. She was the wife of the late Ralph C.
Monaco, loving mother of Anthony Monaco and Jeanne Barbieri, mother-in-law of Patricia and Guy, cherished
grandmother of Joseph and Ralph and dear sister-in-law of Molly Lamonaca, Patricia LaSpagnoletta, Madelyn
Sampogna and the late Antoinette Monaco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered today, Thursday, January 16, at
9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Church, Middle Village, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village,
under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

ROBERT C. KACER died on Monday, January 13, at the age of 80. He was the beloved brother of Jerome Kacer and
Joan Monahan, brother-in-law of Nyla and loving uncle of Joanne, Joseph, Jacquelyn, Robert, Michelle, Jeannie and
Diane. He was a cherished great-uncle to many. Kacer was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict.
Services will be offered this morning, Thursday, January 16, at 11 a.m. at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave.,
Maspeth, followed by interment at Linden Hill Cemetery, Ridgewood.

MAN SHAN LEUNG died on Saturday, January 11, at the age of 82. She was the beloved mother of Paul Y. Leung,
Christine Wong, May Leung and the late Loretta. She was also a loving grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of
four. Services will be offered today, Thursday, January 16, at 12:30 p.m. at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand
Ave., Maspeth, followed by private cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.

RAMONITA BADILLO died on Thursday, January 9, at the age of 88. She was the wife of the late Israel Badillo,
loving mother of Iris Rivera and Israel Badillo Jr., mother-in-law of Felix and Camelia, cherished grandmother of
Christine Marie, Lisa and Jackie and great-grandmother of Talya Lior, Angelina Lauren and Juliana Sophia. She is also
survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Wednesday, January
15, at St. Brigid Church, Brooklyn, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, L.I., under the

ANNA C. HART (nee CALABRESE) died on Wednesday, January 8, at the age of 74. She was the wife of the late Martin
James Hart, loving mother of Robert Hart and James Hart, mother-in-law of Stephanie and dear sister of Rosalie Hannon.

FRANK S. GODLEWSKI died on Tuesday, January 7, at the age of 73. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary
Godlewski, loving father of Frank Godlewski, Steven Godlewski and Veronica Scauri, father-in-law of Alba and Ron,
dear stepfather of Alberto and Jessica and cherished grandfather of Greg, Alexandra, Gabrielle and Jack. He is also
survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Friday, January 10, at
St. Adalbert’s Church, Elmhurst, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of
Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

FRED AVOLIO died on Sunday, January 5, at the age of 81. He was the
beloved husband of Rosa Avolio, loving father of Marisa Triebe and Fernanda
Avolio, father-in-law of Steven, cherished grandfather of Nicole, Steven and
Gina, great-grandfather of Serena Rose and dear pop-pop of Rocky. He was
also a loving uncle. Services were offered on Tuesday, January 7, at Papavero
Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by cremation at Fresh
Pond Crematory, Middle Village.

MARIA GRIPPI of Ridgewood died on Saturday, January 11, at the age of
83. A native of Palermo, Sicily, Italy, she was the wife of the late Giuseppe,
devoted mother of Felicia Marconi, Rosa Messina, Salvatore Grippi and
Gerolamo Grippi and dear sister of Giovanna Invernale and Rosa Scurdino.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A
Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal
Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at Linden Hill Cemetery,
Ridgewood, under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood
Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.

HENRY D. MAERTZ of Ridgewood died on Friday, January 10, at the age
of 75. A native of Wrbas, Yugoslavia, he was the beloved husband of Eva
Freund, devoted father of Kathy McNulty, Patricia Gray, Lisa Callahan and
Nancy Garber and dear brother of Christine Burger, Lesa Panto and Gunther
Maertz. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood
Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, by Rev. Thomas Goodhart,
followed by interment at Linden Hill Cemetery, Ridgewood.
