Glendale’s Sacred Heart School held a variety of events during Catholic Schools Week (Jan. 26-30) aimed at boosting school spirit and enlightening young minds to pursue higher callings. As shown in the top photo, students in grades four through eight received a visit from Chris Bethge, a Sacred Heart alumnus who is now studying to become a priest. Bethge spoke about vocations and his own personal calling; he is scheduled to be ordained next June. Sacred Heart Principal Joanne Gangi is pictured with Bethge and students. The bottom photo shows members of the eighth-grade Class of 2014 who participated in the annual alumni volleyball game. They faced returning members of the Class of 2013.
