Armed bandits assaulted a man and stole his SUV at gunpoint during a carjacking in Woodhaven last Saturday night, Mar. 8, according to police.

Reportedly, the robbery occurred at about 10:50 p.m. at the corner of 89th Avenue and 88th Street.

Law enforcement sources said the 51-year-old male victim exited his white Range Rover and was confronted by one of the suspects, described as a Hispanic male standing 5’8″-tall, who displayed a silver handgun and demanded the vehicle’s keys.

Seconds later, authorities noted, a second perpetrator-also described as a Hispanic male-approached the victim from behind and put him in a chokehold. Reportedly, the victim handed over to the suspects the keys and his cell phone.

Police said the crooks then got into the victim’s Range Rover and sped away northbound on 88th Street toward Jamaica Avenue.
