Pair claims to be cops in western Queens hold-ups: NYPD [With Video]

ASTORIA — Police released video surveillance of two men wanted in the armed robbery of an Astoria salon Tuesday and two prior hold-ups, the NYPD said.

The Police Department said it believes the pair entered Charming Spa Salon, at 30-78 Steinway St., just past midnight Tuesday and allegedly displayed firearms and shields while claiming to be police officers. The suspects allegedly tied up victims and stole money and electronics, according to cops.

Authorities said the men are believed to be behind two similar incidents, where suspects purporting to be police officers robbed Body Works Salon, at 80-30 Jamaica Ave. in Woodhaven, March 12 and a Flushing business, at 141-05 Cherry Ave., March 8, according to authorities.
