City Council Member Daniel Dromm recently welcomed Pasang Tsering as the newly appointed member of Community Board 4. Recognizing his strong interest in community service, Dromm nominated him to the position. Board 4 has an important advisory role in matters relating to the community welfare in Elmhurst and Corona. Tsering was born and raised in a Tibetan refugee community in Kathmandu, Nepal. In 2011, he immigrated to the United States with his family and recently completed his master’s in Public Administration at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. While at John Jay, he was an active student leader. Tsering interned at the district and legislative offices of Council Member Dromm and this summer he will be volunteering at the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs.
