ASTORIA — The FDNY battled a two-alarm blaze in a building on 42nd Street between Ditmars Boulevard and 23rd Avenue in Astoria Sunday after fire spread into a space above the ceiling in a third-story apartment, the FDNY said.
Twenty-five units and 106 firefighters were needed to bring the blaze under control just after 4 p.m., fire officials said.
There were no injuries reported, authorities said.
