The community service club at I.S. 73 in Middle Village recently collected personal items to put into gift baskets for Mother’s Day presents. The baskets were distributed to the Saratoga Family Inn, a homeless shelter in Jamaica, and Women Helping Women, a center for abused women and children. The baskets were filled with crayons, pens, pencils, notepads costume jewelry and personal hygiene items. The students are pictured with their baskets filled with collected items shelters don’t supply.
