He’s Fatally Shot In Woodside
What started out as a dispute between two men at the Woodside Houses last Friday night, July 25, ended in bloodshed when a combatant fatally shot his foe, who slashed him repeatedly, police reported.
Law enforcement sources said Woodside Houses resident Jose Feliciano, 50, of Broadway and James Sloan, 30, of 162nd Street in Fresh Meadows got into a beef with one another at the housing complex on Broadway between Newtown Road and 51st Street at about 11:15 p.m. Friday evening.
The argument turned violent, authorities said, when Feliciano pulled out a knife and attacked Sloane, slashing him about the chest, arms, shoulder and behind an ear.
During the assault, police said, Sloane allegedly pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking Feliciano in the left shoulder and left arm.
Officers from the 114th Precinct and NYPD Public Service Area 8, which patrols the Woodside Houses, responded to the incident along with EMS units. Paramedics rushed both victims to Elmhurst Hospital Center.
Feliciano died upon arrival at the medical facility, while Sloane was listed in stable condition for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.
Sloane was booked on charges of second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence, police said.
An investigation is ongoing.
