GREGORY HALL died on Friday, August 22, at the age of 70. He was
the beloved brother of Frances Wu, Joseph Hall and Theresa Callahan and
a cherished uncle to many. A private cremation was held on Tuesday, August
26, at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village. A Memorial Mass will be
offered tomorrow morning, Friday, August 29, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Adalbert’s
Church, Elmhurst, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27
Grand Ave., Maspeth.

CHARLES W. LOWETH of Long Island City died on Wednesday, August
20, at the age of 61. A native of Queens, he was the son of the late Nadya
and Charles Loweth and dear brother of William and Michael Loweth and
the late Wayne. A private cremation was held at Fresh Pond Crematory,
Middle Village, under the direction of Village Chapels, 67-67 Eliot Ave.,
Middle Village.

CONCETTA CIRRI of Ridgewood died on Friday, August 22, at the age
of 83. She was the beloved wife of Calogero Cirri, cherished mother of
Maria Gugliuzza and Peter Ciri and Cheryl Tassa, devoted grandmother of
Sabrina, Alex, Taylor and Hayley and caring sister of Giovanna Pullara,
Giuseppe Lipani and Giuseppina Schileppi. She is also survived by sistersin law Josephine Gebbia and Calogera Cirri and many nieces, nephews and
friends. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Glendale Walsh
LaBella and Son Funeral Home, 70-17 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

VIKTOR DASHKU of Astoria died on Thursday, August 21, at the age of 63. A native of Pogradec, Albania, he
was the devoted father of Jerina Dashku and Ina Dashku and dear brother of Evelina Plaku, Edmond Dashku and

Ridgewood, followed by interment at Linden Hill Cemetery, Ridgewood.

JULIANA GRIVEJ of Ridgewood died on Tuesday, August 19, at the age of 85. A native of Nikolinci, Yugoslavia,
she was the devoted mother of John Grivej and Juliana Braffett. She is also survived by four grandchildren. Services
were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, by Rev. Dimitri
Musta, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village.

RAJMUND WOJTOWICZ of Ridgewood died on Tuesday, August 19, at
the age of 82. A native of Warsaw, Poland, he was the beloved husband of
Teodozja and devoted father of Dorota Vonmaack and Maryla Wojtowicz. He
is also survived by four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered
at Our Lady of Czestowchowa Shrine, Doylestown, Pa., followed by interment
at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, under the direction of
Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.

SIEGFRIED ERKER of Ridgewood died on Thursday, August 21, at the age
of 87. A native of Gottschee, Austria, he was the beloved husband of Josephine
Hollaczek, devoted father of Susie Beck and Anita Danielsen and dear brother
of Herta. He is also survived by three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian
Burial was offered at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Ridgewood,
followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I., under the
direction of George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

DR. LEOPOLD HEDBAVNY JR. of Glendale, formerly of Manhattan, died
on Saturday, August 16, at the age of 86. He was the beloved husband of Marie
L. Hedbavny, brother of Elizabeth Snell, uncle of Katherine Burn, Jeannie
Grube, Carla Mancini and Todd Hegeman and great-uncle of Ginger and
Richard Grube and Kala and Kyle Mancini.
Hedbavny spent his entire life in the educational field. He held various
positions at Eastern Military Academy in Cold Spring Harbor, L.I., and was a
life-long educator in the Lutheran School system. He obtained his doctorate
of philosophy in history in 1991.
Hedbavny served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a
member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was
active in many civic activities as president of the Glendale Chamber of
Commerce, treasurer of the Glendale Library and president of the Melville
Lions Club of Long Island. He earned the Melvin Jones Fellow Award, the
highest award given to a member of the Melville Lions Club.
Active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 70 years, Hedbavny held
many positions in the Scouts and sat on the Greater New York Council of the
Boy Scouts of America. He also served as president and county commissioner
of the Queens Council of the Boy Scouts.
Viewing was at Glascott Funeral Home, 102-03 Metropolitan Ave., Forest
Hills. A Funeral Service was held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 23, at Marble
Collegiate Church, 1 West 29th St., Manhattan, followed by interment at All
Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village.

MILAN SVILAR died on Monday, August 18, at the age of 80. He was the
husband of the late Stanka Svilar, loving father of Jack Svilar, William Svilar
and Donyal Svilar, father-in-law of Dawn and Thomas and cherished
grandfather of Jonathan, Nathaniel and Nadja. Services were offered tomorrow
morning, Friday, August 22, at 10 a.m. at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27
Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle
Village.
