Woman killed crossing Rego Pk. street: NYPD

REGO PARK — A 79-year-old woman was killed last week after she was hit by a car while crossing a street in Rego Park, police said.

The NYPD said a Ford van was traveling west down 62nd Road just after 8:40 a.m. Aug. 1 when the driver attempted to turn left onto 99th Street and hit a pedestrian who was crossing 99th Street.

The woman, later identified as Gladys Fischoff, of Rego Park, was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The NYPD said the driver remained on the scene and the crash was under investigation.
