Man Found Fatally Stabbed In Cypress Hills Apartment

Repeatedly Slashed & Stabbed In Neck

Detectives continue to seek clues regarding the fatal stabbing of a Cypress Hills man inside his apartment on Sunday night, Sept. 21, it was reported.

Police identified the victim as 46-year-old Michael Imperato of Etna Street.

According to authorities, Imperato was found slain inside his basement dwelling on Etna Street near Nichols Avenue- about two blocks west of the Brooklyn/Queens border-at about 7:51 p.m. Sunday night.

Members of the 75th Precinct made the discovery after receiving 911 calls regarding a male stabbed. They reportedly found him with multiple slash and stab wounds to his neck.

EMS units arrived at the scene shortly thereafter and pronounced Imperato dead. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Law enforcement sources said the motive remains unknown, and there was no information available regarding a possible suspect.

The case was presented to the 75th Precinct Detective Squad for further investigation, police said.
