MTA bus strikes man in Maspeth: NYPD

MASPETH — Police said an MTA bus driver accidentally struck down a 68-year-old man crossing 53rd Drive near 65th Place Tuesday night, the NYPD said.

The Police Department said the bus driver did not see the victim, who was walking with two companions, and hit him at about 8:30 p.m.

His fellow pedestrians and onlookers helped the victim until paramedics arrived and rushed him to Elmhurst Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the NYPD.

Police said it did not issue any summonses and does not believe any criminality was at play.
