By Sarina Trangle

Police reclassified the shooting of a 28-year-old Brooklyn man outside of a South Richmond Hill lounge a homicide after he died at Jamaica Hospital Sept. 24, the NYPD said.

The Police Department said the medical examiner’s office ruled the death of Kelvin Johnson, 28, of Brooklyn, a homicide Monday.

The NYPD has since reclassified the Sept. 20 shooting as a homicide and is asking for assistance finding a suspect.

Police said an unidentified man drove up and shot Johnson once in the torso while standing outside a club on Liberty Avenue near 123rd Street at 3:55 a.m.

Cops said two groups got into a dispute inside the club, some were kicked out and a crowd began to gather in front of the venue.

Police said it was not clear if Johnson was the intended victim.

He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in critical but stable condition, the NYPD initially said.

Johnson died four days later.

Police said the suspect, described as a Hispanic male wearing a hooded sweatshirt, drove a dark SUV.

No arrests have been made, the NYPD said.

Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
