One of the three Queens-bound lanes of the Whitestone Bridge will be closed this Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The closure is necessary because of the ongoing work at the bridge that is part of an $109 million reconstruction and rehabilitation project, according to a letter sent to Community Board 7 by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Bridges and Tunnels.
The work at the 75-year-old bridge is expected to be completed early next year.
The other two Queens-bound lanes will remain open.
