JOSEF PUTRE, formerly of
Ridgewood, passed away at his
home in Boynton Beach, Fla., on
Saturday, November 29, at the age
of 89. A native of Lienfeld
Yugoslavia, he is survived by his
loving wife Berta, brother
Heinrich and children Heidi and
Joseph. He was also the cherished
“Opa” to his grandchildren
Alyssa, Brandon and Alexandra.

ANNA KIKEL of Middle Village died on Tuesday, December 9, at the
age of 84. A native of Yugoslavia, she was the beloved wife of Joseph
Kikel, devoted mother of Joseph K., Edward E. and Robert R. Kikel,
dear sister of Pauline Miede and fond grandmother of Daniel Kikel,
Christina Hyndman, Kara MacCorkindale, Natalie, Jessica, Michelle
and Matthew Kikel. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at
Resurrection Ascension Church, Rego Park, followed by interment at
St. Philip Neri Cemetery, East Northport, L.I., under the direction of
George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

MARIA GRILL of Ridgewood died on Sunday, December 7, at the
age of 94. A native of Seche, Gottschee, Yugoslavia, she was the wife
of the late John, devoted mother of Helga Grill, dear sister of Hans
Hogler and fond grandmother of Erika Feltman and great-grandmother
of Christian and Luke Filagrossi. A Mass of Christian Burial was
offered at St. Aloysius Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at
Linden Hill Cemetery, Ridgewood, under the direction of Morton

DOROTHY FAJEK died on Saturday, December 6, at the age of 51.
She was the beloved daughter of Lucy and the late Zygmunt, loving
sister of Adam, Mark, Jack and Elizabeth Cortes and sister-in-law of
Ann, Theresa and Victor. She was also a cherished aunt. A Mass of

JAYVIR PATEL died on Thursday, December 4, at the age of 78. He
was the loving father of Arun, Jatin, Anil, Nilesh and Mukesh,
cherished grandfather of Nikki, Rinku, Krunal, Jinal, Maulik, Nihali,
Kashyap, Vrutik and Mitva, great-grandfather of Meet, Kruti and Meel

the age of 82. A native of Romania, he was the dear brother of Paulina

EDWARD A. PROKOPIAK died on Wednesday, December 3, at the
age of 84. He was the husband of the late Stephanie Prokopiak, loving
father of Richard Prokopiak and Valerie Szymanski, father-in-law of
Judy, cherished grandfather of Andrew and Ashley, dear brother of
Mary Hannigan and Helena Pataky and best friend of Joseph Okolie.
He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was
a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. A Mass
of Christian Burial was offered on Monday, December 8, at St.
Adalbert’s Church, Elmhurst, followed by interment at Calvary
Cemetery, Woodside, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home,

and Cassandra and great-grandfather of Kyle and Daniel. Services
