Photo Gallery Rain Couldn’t Keep Santa Away In Midville By QNS Editorial Posted on December 11, 2014 Sign up for our QNS email newsletter to get news, updates, and local insights delivered straight to your inbox! Through the raindrops, Santa Claus helped Middle Village children celebrate the arrival of the holiday season during the Middle Village Chamber of Commerce’s tree lighting last Friday, Dec. 5, at Community United Methodist Church. Ol’ St. Nick-whose visit was arranged by Sal Crifasi, the chamber’s president-is pictured at left leading members of Girl Scout Troop 4419 at Our Lady of Hope School in singing traditional songs after the tree was lit. The festivities then moved inside the church, where guests enjoyed refreshments and Santa Claus distributed gifts to children. Among those who participated in the event, as shown in the right photo, were City Council Member Elizabeth Crowley; J.P. DiTroia, the Kiwanis West lieutenant governor; and Al Gentile, president of the Kiwanis Club of Middle Village.
