Several lanes on the Throgs Neck Bridge will be closed this weekend, July 31 through Aug. 3, for construction work, weather permitting.
One Bronx-bound lane will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday. On Friday and Sunday nights, a second lane will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday night until 7 a.m. Saturday and again from 10 p.m. Sunday night until 5 a.m. Monday.
On Saturday night into Sunday morning, one Queens-bound lane will be closed from 10 p.m. through 7 a.m.
Crews working on behalf of the MTA will be applying new asphalt and binding agents onto the bridge deck.
Motorists can use the Bronx-Whitestone or the Robert F. Kennedy bridges as an alternate route.
