Masked Man Breaks Into Pearle Vision on Queens Blvd, Quickly Nabbed by Cops

A masked-man who smashed through the glass door at Pearle Vision and scooped up more than $3,000 in glasses was stopped in his tracks by police as he attempted to flee the store early Saturday, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office.

Billy Arias, 26, allegedly smashed his way into the 48-11 Queens Blvd store at 5:10 am Saturday and was observed by a witness wearing a mask and holding a black bag, according to the criminal complaint.

The police, who were quick to arrive on the scene, apprehended Arias 10 feet outside the store and recovered 21 pairs of glasses in his black bag.

Arias, who lives in Corona, has been charged with burglary, grand larceny, possession of stolen property and criminal mischief.
