LIC runs past Eagle Academy

Long Island City remains among the ranks of the unbeaten.

Dayshawn Small rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries to help lead Long Island City to a 26-14 victory over visiting Eagle Academy III in PSAL Cup Conference football last Saturday. Torsten Ramos added a rushing score. Wilton Calderon completed 5 of 21 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown pass to Naseem Henderson. Andre Filsaime recovered two fumbles on defense. Eagle Academy III is 0-2.

Bayside 22, John Adams 12: Bayside’s Marcus Watson rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries and Robert Williams returned an interception for a score for Bayside (2-0). Tequan Evans tossed a touchdown pass to Watson. Antwon James went 9 of 18, passing for 82 yards and a touchdown to Robert Russell for John Adams (1-1).

Monroe Woodbury 10, Holy Cross 0: Kahron Hogans made nine tackles and ReVonne Smalls had seven tackles and two assists for Holy Cross in a non-league loss. Joseph Fellin was 5 of 9, passing for 85 yards.

Jamaica 24, Beach Channel 6: Garfield McDonald rushed for 191 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries for Jamaica (2-0). Malik Lawrie went 5 of 5 passing for 91 yards. Benjamin Obikoya made seven tackles on defense. Beach Channel is 0-2.

Springfield Gardens 12, Christopher Columbus 0: Allassane Coulibaly completed 4 of 11 passes for 54 yards and a touchdown to Tahjai Kennedy for Springfield Gardens (1-1). Christopher Clark added a rushing score.
