A reportedly well-dressed 26-year-old man was found dead under the Hell Gate Bridge last week, according to authorities.

Officers from the 114th Precinct made the grim discovery at 6:42 a.m. on Sept. 11 while responding to a 911 call regarding a person in need of help at Astoria Park below the bridge.

Upon arriving, authorities said, the officers found the man – who according to published reports had a black plastic bag over his head – unconscious and unresponsive underneath the Hell Gate Bridge.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead.

The identification of the victim is pending proper family notification, police said.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
