Man found fatally shot on Astoria street

A 26-year-old man died early Sunday morning after being found shot on Steinway Street in Astoria, according to authorities.

On Sunday, at about 3:59 a.m., officers from the 114th Precinct responded to a call regarding a person being shot outside of 25-86 Steinway St.

Upon arriving, cops found the man – whose identity is pending family notification – in front of the location with gunshot wounds to his body, police said. Emergency personnel transported the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is still ongoing.
