Police are looking for a man they say tried to snatch a woman’s phone while she spoke on it on a stairwell at a Sunnyside train station earlier this week.

On Monday, Oct. 12, at about 1:20 p.m., the suspect approached the 33-year-old victim on a stairwell at the 40 St/Lowery St 7 train station and tried to take her cellphone from behind as she was speaking on it, according to authorities.

The woman resisted and screamed, causing the suspect to let go of the phone and fleeing on foot to an unknown location.

Cops describe the perpetrator as a Hispanic male standing 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighing 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray waist-length hooded jacket with  an orange liner, dark-color jeans and a plain dark-color baseball cap.
