Queens artists take part in L.I. exhibition

Two Queens-based artists, who study at Chezar Art Studio, will be part of a month-long exhibition at Nassau County’s Jericho Public Library.

Amari Desir, who attends elementary school in Cambria Heights, started studying at Chezar Art Studio when he was just 6 years old.

He has worked in a number of mediums, including drawing and acrylic paint.

Amari says he loves drawing animals the best.

Josephine Galea is also part of the November show.

Galea, who serves as director of The Art of Self Healing Center in Astoria, which she co-founded, is a new student at Chezar, where she has taken to working with pastels.

“I used to enjoy drawing when I was younger and thought it would be a good idea to explore this interest that I once had to see if it is a fine thing I might still enjoy doing. I would like to enhance my skills,” Galea said.

All the artists in the library show will be on hand Saturday, Nov. 7, for an opening reception from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the library.

Refreshments will be served.

Jericho Public Library is located at One Merry Lane, in Jericho.
