Teens use 20-foot ladder to scale Astoria fence and steal bicycles

Police are looking for two teenagers who entered the backyard of a home in the vicinity of 11th Street and 35th Avenue in Astoria and stole two bicycles.

Two enterprising teenagers used a 20-foot ladder to gain access to a backyard to steal two bicycles from a shed, according to authorities.

The male suspects climbed into the backyard of a home at at 11th Street near 35th Avenue in Astoria on Oct. 19. At about 9:15 a.m., they entered a shed and stole a pink bicycle and mountain bike, police said.

The NYPD described the suspects as black males, about 16 years old. One suspect was wearing a black shirt, while the other wore gray. Though the burglars were caught on a security camera, police have not released the video.
