Woman killed in Flushing hit-and-run

An unidentified woman was killed in Flushing Thursday by a driver who fled the scene in an unknown vehicle, police said.

The hit-and-run occurred about 8:30 p.m. at the busy intersection of Main Street and Kissena Boulevard in the heart of downtown Flushing.

A motorist discovered the body of a woman with severe trauma lying in the roadway. It was not known how long she had been

there.

Police were called to the scene, but the woman was already dead, the NYPD said.

Authorities told CBS2 they were looking for a private bus.

As of Friday morning, the woman had not been identified, police said.

The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad was working on the case.
