Community Board 5 (CB 5) announced that the 104th Precinct plans on closing Myrtle Avenue between Cypress Hills Street and Fresh Pond Road in Glendale for ceremonies marking the one-anniversary of the death of NYPD Detective Rafael Ramos.

The roadway will be closed off until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19. No parking signs on both sides of Myrtle Avenue will be posted on Friday, Dec. 18, effective beginning at 12 midnight and all day Saturday.

Ramos was gunned down with his partner, Detective Wenjian Liu, while on duty in Brooklyn on Dec. 20, 2014.

The shooter, Ismaaiyl Brinsley, walked up behind the cop car Ramos and Liu were in and killed the two officers. Brinsley then ran to the G line subway station at Myrtle-Willoughby Avenues where he shot himself in the head on the platform.
