By Bill Parry

Police were searching for a missing Astoria woman who was last seen leaving work at LaGuardia Airport around noon last Thursday. Sierra Shields, 30, a flight attendant for Shuttle America, was scheduled for a flight later that day that day but she quit her job and walked out leaving personal belongings behind, according to 1010 WINS.

Family and friends have mounted a social media campaign to raise awareness of her disappearance. The Facebook group Find Sierra Shields has nearly 9,000 likes.

The Shields family posted, “We hope to find our sweet Sierra soon, and envelope her in a warm embrace filled with love.”

Police describe Shields as 5-feet-7-inches tall, 160 pounds with a medium build, medium complexion, black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
