Detectives looking for clues and car following shooting in Laurelton

Police are looking for the getaway car involved in a shooting on 140th Avenue in Laurelton on Jan. 26.

Police released on Thursday an image of the getaway car believed to have been involved in a shooting on a Laurelton Street on Tuesday afternoon.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at 3:50 p.m. in front of a location on 140th Avenue off 218th Street.

Sources familiar with the investigation stated an unidentified man approached the 19-year-old male victim in the street and shot him in the upper torso and left wrist. The gunman then fled the scene inside a dark gray Mercedes-Benz four-door sedan with dark rims that sped away westbound on 140th Avenue.

Officers from the 105th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. Paramedics rushed the victim to Jamaica Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
