Steinway Family Dental Center (SFDC) is proud to announce their participation in National Children’s Dental Health Month by hosting a Semi-Annual Free Dental Day on Friday, Feb. 5. This event provides a free day of preventative dental care to adults and children within community.

SFDC Free Dental Day was created to provide aid to the growing number of those who can’t afford dental services. According to the American Hygienist Association, “50 percent of Americans do not receive regular oral health care.” Approximately 17,000,000 low-income children also go each year without seeing a dentist (The Comprehensive Dental Reform Act).

This high inability to visit the dentist causes thousands to miss out on preventative dental care that could greatly help both their oral health and overall health. “People with teeth live longer. There is no better reason to take care of your oral health,” said Dr. Aleksandr Dayanayev.

Steinway will be handling any procedure that can be done in one day including free cleanings, exams, and x-rays. Patients can also expect to learn about the importance of regular dental examinations, proper brushing and flossing techniques, and important information relevant to children’s dental health if applicable.
