Two masked, money-hungry crooks ordered up cash and some quality cigars from a Glendale grocery store during an armed heist early on Monday morning, police reported.
The stickup occurred at 12:13 a.m. inside the Cypress Express Deli located at the corner of Cypress and Cooper avenues.
According to authorities, one of the two suspects displayed a firearm, while the other walked behind the counter and confronted a male employee.
After making a verbal demand for cash, police said, the suspects obtained $1,000 in cash as well as five boxes of cigars. They then exited the store and fled in an unknown direction.
Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the incident; there were no injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
