Police are searching for a suspect who reportedly robbed a man at gunpoint in Astoria and then shot him in the shoulder earlier this month.

The 29-year-old victim reported that around 4 a.m. on Monday, August 15, the suspect came up behind him, showed a handgun, and demanded he hand over his property.

The suspect then grabbed a chain from around the victim’s neck, shot him once in the shoulder, and fled, getting in to a white Jeep Grand Cherokee with black rims.

The suspect fled southbound on 33rd Street, according to police.

The suspect is a black male between 25 to 30 years old. He is about 6 feet tall and between 170 to 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark colored shirt, black sweatpants and glasses.
