NYPD: Two men attempt to shop lift from gas station, punch clerk in face

Police are searching for two men who robbed a gas station and punched a store clerk in the face.

The two suspects entered the Exxon Mobile Gas Station, located at 40-40 Crescent Street, and removed property off of the shelves without paying for it, according to the NYPD. The incident took place on July 4, around 7:45 pm.

The store clerk then attempted to retrieve the stolen property, but one of the suspects punched him in the face, causing a laceration to the victim’s mouth, police said.

The two men fled the locations to parts unknown.

Police describe the first suspect as a male, black, in his 20’s. He was last seen wearing an American flag white t-shirt.

The second suspect is described as a male, Hispanic, in his 20’s. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap and a red t-shirt.

Police have released surveillance footage of the two individuals from the gas station. They are asking anyone with information to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
