Two shady massage parlors in Ridgewood and Glendale have been rubbed out, according to police.

Captain Mark Wachter, the 104th Precinct’s commanding officer, announced on Twitter that S & S Spa, located at 64-14 Fresh Pond Rd. in Ridgewood, and Iris Beauty & Facial, located at 68-29 Myrtle Ave. in Glendale, have been closed down, thanks to the work from Queens North Vice Enforcement Squad.

According to notices on the businesses’ doors, Iris Beauty was shut down to due practitioners giving unlicensed massages, while S & S Spa was closed because of unlicensed massages and prostitution.

Earlier this year, three individuals were arrested at S & S Spa for prostitution and/or practicing massage therapy without a license.

The 104th Precinct and its partners at the Queens North Vice Enforcement Unit have been busy all year arresting massage parlor workers and shutting down illegal spas over allegations of prostitution and practicing massage therapy without a license.

The most recent shutdowns occurred through actions taken by the NYPD in accordance with the city’s nuisance abatement law, which aims to stop businesses with histories of operational violations.
