Video: Driver collides with motorcyclist in Jackson Heights and flees the scene

A driver hit a 21-year-old motorcyclist, causing him to fly off of his bike, in Jackson Heights last month, but the driver didn’t stick around to see if the victim was alright, police said.

On Aug. 19 at 4:26 p.m., the motorcyclist was driving his bike in front of 85-21 37 Ave. when the driver attempted to make a U-turn in the same area. The motorcycle collided with the red Cadillac SRS sport utility vehicle and the victim was thrown of his bike.

The suspect then fled westbound on 37th Avenue. The victim suffered a fractured right hand and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in serious but stable condition.

The suspect driving the car is described as a white or Hispanic male, 20- to 30-years-old, with black hair.
