Cops search for suspected necklace snatcher in Woodside

WOODSIDE—Police were searching for a man suspected of two incidents of grand larceny in Woodside.

At 9:20 a.m. Oct. 4, a 53-year-old woman was on 45th Avenue when she was approached from behind and her necklace was snatched. The suspect fled the location, police said, and the victim sustained no injuries.

The same man is suspected in another necklace snatching incident that occurred Sept. 28 at 10:45 a.m. on 72nd Street. The suspect approached the 47-year-old female victim from behind on a bicycle, snatched her necklace and fled. The victim did not report any injuries.

Police describe the suspect as a male, about 30 to 35 years old, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a white stripe down the arm, dark-colored pants, dark colored sneakers and a grey baseball hat.
