Police are continuing to investigate the death of a 5-year-old boy who was found in his Jamaica on Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday, Jan 22, at 4:17 p.m., officers from the 103rd Precinct responded to a 911 call of an unconscious male at a home on 109th Avenue near Inwood Street. Inside, they found Michael Guzman, 5, unconscious and unresponsive.
EMS responded to the scene and transported Guzman to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
According to police, the family has a history of domestic violence incidents. There are multiple children living at the residence where Guzman was found. Guzman’s parents were interviewed as part of the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
